At Smart Live, the dealer (sorry, presenter) is dealing a single hand, but many players are playing this hand via the television broadcast or web. How is this possible? An excerpt from Smart Live's house rules reveals the answer..

'Our unique online interface allows you to play the hand your way while others play the hand differently. This means that while everyone will start with the same two cards, and the dealer will always start with the same starting card, the rest of the cards are not dealt to a particular hand. The cards are dealt into the middle of the table and are then assigned to whichever hand is appropriate based on your decisions. You will see this represented in your web browser. You will win or lose the hand based solely on the decisions you have taken; the decisions other people take will have no impact on your hand.'

This is a little confusing at first, but if you just remember the game is standard blackjack and your hand is clearly presented in the interface graphic, reconciling the layout of the actual cards on the actual table to yours and the dealers hand eventually makes sense after playing a few hands.

Video stream time lag

One aspect of the Smart Live's blackjack that was particularly annoying (as played/viewed via web browser), was the significant lag between the video vision and the cards presented on the interface graphic. In some cases the web-cast lag was so extreme that a hand had been completed according to the interface graphic, before the actual cards appeared on the table in the video stream.

Obviously this problem is internet connection related, but using the same connection speed at other live blackjack games this problem was not encountered (certainly not to this extent).

While this has no effect on your ability to play the game, it certainly detracts from the live gaming experience.
